When Silver Compass arranges travel for you we only work with Suppliers who are ABTA and ATOL protected and are acting as an agent on behalf of the ABTA / ATOL holder.

ATOL is the only protection scheme for flights and air holidays sold by tour operators in the UK.
Essentially, it means that in the event of an operator failing financially, your holiday is protected. If this were to happen before you travel, ATOL will refund your money and you can book the holiday elsewhere, which we will obviously help you to do. If this happens while you are on holiday, then ATOL will cover the cost of the rest of your holiday so you can enjoy yourself and come home as planned. Throughout this whole process we would be on hand to help you and make sure that the inconvenience to you is as little as possible.

ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services we offer. We will provide you with information on the protection that applies in the case of each holiday and travel service before you make your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected. The ATOL scheme does not encompass accommodation only or flight only bookings. For more information regarding the ATOL scheme and what it covers, visit the CAA website at www.caa.co.uk/atol.

The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) and ABTA Members help holidaymakers get the most from their travel and assist them when things do not go according to plan. Silver Compass is a member of ABTA and holds membership number P8311. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. For further information about ABTA, the Code of Conduct, and the arbitration scheme available to you if you have a complaint, please visit www.abta.com

When you pay for your travel arrangements, your money is held in a Client Account managed by Hays Travel Ltd, which protects your money in the very unlikely event of failure of Silver Compass, Not Just Travel or Hays. It is set up in the same way as a trust account. Money is held on behalf of third parties, namely the customer and suppliers, and the account is therefore not considered an asset of the company and is not available to creditors, liquidators or administrators should Hays Travel Ltd fail. All monies paid by the customer are paid into the Not Just Travel/Hays Client account, no money is held by Silver Compass, so in the unlikely event of Silver Compass failing, the money will still be available to Not Just Travel to pay for your holiday.

So you have nothing to worry about!
